Day 260 / Easter

Easter is one of my favorite holidays. It is the end of a long Lenten season. It is Jesus’ rising from the dead. It is renewal  and rebirth. It is glory. It is joy. I love it.

We celebrated with an Easter brunch with my Mom Judy, Cortney and all our families. Today, I’m grateful for Easter and all that it represents.

Day 165 / 2014

The loss of My Daddy this year was a travesty that hit my family and me so hard. It is painful to think about his zest, his vitality, and his light that all suddenly went dim on June 8th; and then on June 30th his beautiful light went out.

Finding gratitude in each day has given me strength and peace. I lost so much, yet still have so much for which to be thankful. As I reflect on the year, I’m reminded of all that I am grateful:

– My family. All of my family, by blood or marriage, I’m grateful for every single member of my huge family.
– My friends. Past, present, or lifelong, I have some really freaking amazing friends.
– My faith. It keeps me strong. It gives me peace.
– Ava turning 4. And finally turning the corner from her “Tyrannical Threes”.
– Alexa’s graduation. Moments of so much joy and happiness.
– Alexa’s scholarship win. I am such a proud Mama.
– My 40th Birthday trip to Jamaica with Donovon. A relaxing break on the most beautiful beach on the planet.
– My trip to Florida with Donovon. More fun times with my hubby.
– Thanksgiving 2014. Family, food, and drink – My favorite holiday.
– Christmas 2014. The smiles, the lit up faces, the love, the hugs, the kisses, the joy.
– The journey.

Life goes on. Love and happiness prevail. I’m grateful for all of it.

Happy New Year!
