A friend of ours lost his father and the memorial service was in Dallas today. I’m grateful that our family was able to make the trip to be there for our friend. I know how meaningful and comforting it can be just to see familiar and caring faces.

Day 292 / Birthday Celebration for My Girl Tracy
Today I’m grateful for a fun birthday celebration for My Girl Tracy. We had drinks and yummy Tex-Mex at El Arroyo, good times indeed. Tracy was so happy to be surrounded by so many good friends, which made me very happy too. I’m glad I got to celebrate another year of life with her and toast to many more to come.
Day 286 / The Weekend
Not only am I thankful for the end to a long work week, but I’m grateful that this weekend I get to spend time with my friend Rose and my mom, brother, sister and her family during a quick trip to Houston. As always, I enjoy any time I can get with my family and friends. So I’m very much looking forward to this weekend.
Day 252 / Engagement Party
Today we drove to Spring, Texas to attend the engagement party of one our long-time family friends. First of all, I love weddings and anything wedding-related. Secondly, at our age, weddings are very few and far between. Lastly, getting the opportunity to get together with family and friends for such a joyous occasion, it goes without saying that I was jumping-up-and-down-excited. 🙂
It turned out to be a lovely affair. The bonus being that our little family – Donovon, Alexa, Ava, and I – got to spend some nice quality time together. I’m so grateful for being surrounded by family and friends in celebration of young love!
Day 238 / Port Aransas Dinner with Friends
We had a great day on the beach and capped off our day with drinks and dinner with friends. I always look forward to breaking bread and sharing a meal with family and friends. Today, I’m grateful for doing just that while on vacation. Good times. Great memories.
Day 236 / Vacation
I’m a firm believer that vacations are an absolute necessity. We need time to re-charge, to relax, to really breathe.
So, it goes without saying that I’m so very thankful that we are leaving tomorrow for a brief vacation at the beach. As I do laundry tonight and prepare for our trip, I’m brimming with excitement.
We’re meeting my friend Rose and her family as well as her brother and sister-in-law and their families. Although the weather is not going to ideal, I know we’re going to have a lot of fun. And I’m in desperate need of a break. I can’t wait!
Day 234 / A Friend’s Father’s Road to Recovery
Today I learned that our friend and neighbor’s father who has been in critical condition made it through surgery and is on the road to recovery. With the pain of my father’s loss so fresh, it naturally struck a chord with me, and I could easily relate to our friend’s pain and anguish these past several days. Tonight, I’m relieved and grateful that his father’s health has turned a corner.
Day 221 / Lunch with Tracy
I had lunch with Tracy today and I’m so glad I did. It was perfect timing for both of us. We needed a break from work and our relaxing lunch was the perfect remedy for our stressful morning. That, and we didn’t go two months without seeing each other!
I’m grateful for such an enjoyable lunch with one of my closest girls.
Day 215 / Hanging with Michelle
Tonight I got to hang out with Michelle after work and I’m so glad I got to spend some time with her. I enjoy her company so much. There’s a closeness and comfort there that’s like slipping on your favorite robe or into your favorite jeans. It just fits and is so comfortable.
I’m so grateful for hanging with Michelle tonight.
Day 208 / Girls Night
Tonight a couple of girlfriends from work and I met up for dinner before going to see Fifty Shaded of Grey together. We had all read the book series around the same time and had discussed the making of the movie for years. So, upon the release of the movie, naturally, we decided to all go together.
It was a fun night and although movie left us disappointed to say the least, the time together was filled with much needed giggles, drinks, and girl talk. I’m so thankful for such an enjoyable Girls Night.
