I made a quick trip to Temple for work today. A co-worker came along with me and was a nice little trip – An easy drive on I-35, fun conversation, and the best part: lunch at Cheeves Bros. The food was simply incredible, and the service delightful. Most of all I enjoyed getting to know my colleagues and spending time with them. It was such a great experience and I’m grateful for my quick day trip to Temple.

Day 325 / Making Connections
The introvert in me tends to resist seeking new connections. However, my career forces me to forge against that resistance. I’ve learned to embrace and appreciate it and am grateful for the new connections I’ve made recently.
Day 324 / Cousin Love – Part II
Alexa and Ava have five first cousins on Donovon’s side of the family – Carson, Caroline, Regan, Casen, and Paityn – each one so precious and loveable.
Carson is an entertainer. He loves to make us laugh or sing and play his guitar for us. Caroline is a sweetheart with a heart so big and true, she sees nothing but good in everyone. Regan is strong and genuine. She tells it like it is and pulls no punches. Casen is multi-talented and disciplined. And he’s pretty quiet, but you can’t help but see the love he has for his sisters and cousins when we’re all together. Paityn is the newest little addition and she’s a bundle of pure joy.
They are all so smart and loving. I’m filled with joy when I’m around all of them. I love them like my own and I find my girls so lucky to have so many cousins in the family with whom they are so close. I’m so grateful for so much Cousin Love.
Day 323 / These Gems
Day 322 / Taking Care of Me
I’ve had a constant pain in my upper back for weeks now. I finally scheduled a massage and am so grateful for spending the time to take care of me today. I feel so relaxed and my back feels great. I’m convinced that I need to do this a lot more often!
Day 321 / Hair Care
Today I went to see my favorite stylist, Laura, at Urban Betty for some much needed and overdue hair care. I can’t begin to describe how grateful I am that all my grays are now covered. I feel like a new and much younger woman! Thank goodness for good hair care!
Day 320 / Tex-Mex and Sci-Fi
Tonight Donovon and I had one of our neighbors over to watch Jupiter Rising and eat Tex-Mex from our beloved Enchiladas Y Mas.
It was a fun little evening and I’m grateful for the delicious Tex-Mex and the entertaining Sci-Fi.
Day 319 / Take Out
Since I don’t cook, on nights when Donovon doesn’t want to cook, I’m so grateful for being able to call for any number of restaurants for take out.
Day 318 / Former Colleagues
The past few days I’ve spoken on the phone with several former colleagues who live all across the country just to catch up. After each conversation, I find myself so grateful for them and their encouragement, their support, their advice, and most of all their friendship.
Although we may not work together any longer, our bond is rock solid and I’m so thankful that they continue to be a part of my life.
