Day 336 / Engagement Party #2

I mentioned previously how much I love weddings and anything wedding-related. So I could barely contain my excitement when we received an invitation to another yet engagement party.  Two in one year – Paint this girl GIDDY!

We traveled again to Houston to attend our long-time family friend’s engagement party today. It was held at Crisp, and I have to say the food was the best I’ve had in a long time. And of course, we had an amazing time with our family and friends in celebration of young love and their upcoming nuptials.
I’m so grateful for yet another engagement party and all the wedding events that will follow.

Day 335 / Feeling Inspired

Today I got to hear Toni Harris speak at a luncheon.  She was energetic, vivacious, and inspiring.  Toni has an incredible story of determination and hope, and she called upon her audience to take drastic steps to achieve our goals.   The mantra ran through my mind the rest of the day – Take Drastic Steps.  So I promised myself that professionally I would.

I’m so grateful for feeling inspired today….it’s been a long time since I felt this way.

Day 334 / Disney Work & Play

My company is hosting a conference in Orlando in July and am so thrilled to have been invited and to attend.  The whole family is going with me, so we got tickets to Disney World to coincide with the conference and I’m SO EXCITED!  I’ve been feverishly and strategically planning our schedule and the more I get into it, the more I can’t wait to go.  The conference agenda looks great and having my family there makes it that much more exciting.  But most of all, I’m looking forward to My Little Princess Ava’s face light up as she enters the Magic Kingdom.

I’m so freaking grateful for some work and play at Disney!

Day 332 / Dental Work

Today I had some dental work done.  And it might seem odd to be grateful for dental work, but I know there are many that cannot afford it.  Oral health is very important to me, so I’m glad that I can get good dental care when I need it.

Day 330 / Lazy Sunday

I had a long To Do list of small projects that I wanted to accomplish today, but when all was said and done, I could not find any motivation.  I, therefore, spent most of the day watching TV, getting only a couple chores done.  I felt a little bad about not getting to my list, but I needed some rest.  So I’m grateful for a lazy Sunday.

Day 329 / Pool Time

It’s mid-June and after weeks and weeks of rain, today was the first time this summer that we’ve been able to get some pool time.  I’m not complaining because we’ve needed all this rain.  But I am grateful for spending time at our friend’s pool and catching up with friends, eating great food, and drinking cold beer.  It was a perfect summer day!

Day 328 / Dinner with Nicole

Today Nicole and I went to dinner for her birthday.  I’m so glad we found the time enjoy a relaxing meal together.    We had delicious food and drink and great conversation, just what both of us needed on a very chill and easy-going Friday night.

I’m so grateful for my dinner with Nicole.

Day 327 / Laughter

“Against the assault of laughter, nothing can stand.” – Mark Twain

I have not found this to be more true than in the past year.  In fighting off anger, depression, and anxiety, laughter always brings me back from the depths of grief.

I’m so grateful for still having the ability to laugh, and even more grateful for laughter’s healing ability.
