Today marks 22 years of marriage to Donovon. I’m so grateful for the craziness of our youth…driving me to marry the funniest and most loving man ever! To 22 years, the next 22 years, and many, many more!!

Day 155 / Movies
Oh how I love movies. Donovon and I have been collecting movies almost our entire marriage. We have well over a thousand in our collection now.
Sometimes it will take us close to a hour to decide which movie to watch. We’ll debate back and forth over genre, lead actor/actress, sequels, etc. Yeah, we’ve got some serious First World problems.
And as I mentioned in my little bio, Donovon and I often speak to each other in movie quotes. It’s like our own little language. Movies are certainly our favorite pastime, one we’ve enjoyed together for many, many years.
My love of movies, however, began long before Donovon and I got together. It began with my Daddy, whose love of movies I inherited. I can remember him taking me to see Return of the Jedi when the line to get in was wrapped around the movie theater. I definitely owe my love of huge blockbuster action movies to him.
And then there’s the comedies. We would laugh like hyenas at National Lampoons Vacation or Police Academy. We’re both easily amused and entertained. It didn’t take much for us to enjoy most any movie.
Movies have been and continue to play a huge role in my life. They are my escape. They help me unwind. And they help me stay connected to those I love and have lost.
Today I watched Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom. Daddy loved all the Indiana Jones movies and I couldn’t help but think of him and our shared love of movies as I watched it. I’m thankful for movies and all the joy and memories they bring.
Day 154 / Friends and Family Time
We had a very busy day today with three birthday parties to attend. It was great to visit with so many family and friends during this holiday season. I’m thankful for getting to spend time with everyone we saw today. It certainly was a bright spot in my day.
Day 153 / Christmas Shopping Complete
I am so very thankful that I finished all my Christmas shopping tonight! Yay me! 🙂
Day 152 / Daddy’s Birthday
Happy Birthday, Daddy! I’m truly grateful for the day you were born. And I miss you and love you so very very much.
Day 151 / My Big Girl’s 4.0
Alexa simply amazes me. This fall semester, she started college at ACC, worked part-time at Olive Garden, and interned at a film company. And at the end of a semester of hard work and dedication on all fronts, she achieved a 4.0 GPA.
I’m beaming with pride. My Big Girl’s hard work has paid off. I’m so grateful for all her effort and diligence. And I admire her ability to set a goal and do all that it takes to achieve it.
Day 150 / Ava’s Hugs & Kisses
Tonight Ava and I talked about our favorite things – our favorite color, favorite food, etc. During our little conversation, I told her that one of my favorite things was her hugs and kisses. Ava’s hugs and kisses make everything better. I love getting hugs and kisses from Ava and I’m so very thankful for them.
Day 149 / Making It through the Day
Today was tough. I’m missing Daddy terribly. I’m just thankful for making it through the day without completely falling to pieces, and that there is tomorrow.
Day 148 / A Little Peace
Today I’m grateful for feeling some peace in my heart. I’m not sure if it’s the spirit of the season or feeling my dad’s spirit around me, but for whatever reason, I’m feeling a little more at peace today. It’s a really nice feeling.
