I always struggle with “About Me” profiles/bios/introductions because I never know where to begin or how to explain who I am. That said, I’m just going to throw out bullet points that come to mind, a sort of shotgun approach, instead of daring to attempt to write my own bio:
- I was born and raised in Austin, Texas.
- I went to Catholic school from Kindergarten through 8th grade.
- I’m Catholic.
- I eloped my senior year of high school shortly after I turned 18.
- I’ve been married for 21 years.
- Yes, that makes me 39 right now.
- I have 2 ridiculously beautiful girls – Alexa, 18 and Ava, 4.
- I like to use the word “ridiculously” a lot to emphasis my point.
- I really can’t explain why we waited so long to have another child.
- I love movies, mostly action/adventure.
- My husband and I often speak in movie quotes.
- I went to UT Austin for 2 years, took a 16-year break, and am currently pursing an organizational leadership degree at St. Edward’s University.
- I’ve worked in financial services for 18 years.
- Saturday mornings are my favorite.
- I’m Filipino-American.
- I can’t speak, but mostly understand Tagalog.
- My favorite food is cheeseburgers, although my doc says I should really not eat them.
- I love to play and watch golf and wish I could do more of both.
- I love watching professional football, the American kind.
- I’m a die hard Cowboys fan.
- I love to help people.
- I love to plan things, but sometimes enjoy just going with the flow.
- At 39, I’m an orphan – My mother died when I was 12; my father, just recently.
- Being grateful for the time I did have with them, all that I learned from them, and who I am because of them has eased my grief and is therefore the inspiration for this blog where I will write about something I’m grateful for each day.
