Today I had some dental work done. And it might seem odd to be grateful for dental work, but I know there are many that cannot afford it. Oral health is very important to me, so I’m glad that I can get good dental care when I need it.
Month: June 2015
Day 331 / Productive Monday
It appears my Lazy Sunday paid off – I was very productive at work today and I feel great about it! I’m grateful for a productive Monday.
Day 330 / Lazy Sunday
I had a long To Do list of small projects that I wanted to accomplish today, but when all was said and done, I could not find any motivation. I, therefore, spent most of the day watching TV, getting only a couple chores done. I felt a little bad about not getting to my list, but I needed some rest. So I’m grateful for a lazy Sunday.
Day 329 / Pool Time
It’s mid-June and after weeks and weeks of rain, today was the first time this summer that we’ve been able to get some pool time. I’m not complaining because we’ve needed all this rain. But I am grateful for spending time at our friend’s pool and catching up with friends, eating great food, and drinking cold beer. It was a perfect summer day!
Day 328 / Dinner with Nicole
Today Nicole and I went to dinner for her birthday. I’m so glad we found the time enjoy a relaxing meal together. We had delicious food and drink and great conversation, just what both of us needed on a very chill and easy-going Friday night.
I’m so grateful for my dinner with Nicole.
Day 327 / Laughter
“Against the assault of laughter, nothing can stand.” – Mark Twain
I have not found this to be more true than in the past year. In fighting off anger, depression, and anxiety, laughter always brings me back from the depths of grief.
I’m so grateful for still having the ability to laugh, and even more grateful for laughter’s healing ability.
Day 326 / Day Trip for Work
I made a quick trip to Temple for work today. A co-worker came along with me and was a nice little trip – An easy drive on I-35, fun conversation, and the best part: lunch at Cheeves Bros. The food was simply incredible, and the service delightful. Most of all I enjoyed getting to know my colleagues and spending time with them. It was such a great experience and I’m grateful for my quick day trip to Temple.
Day 325 / Making Connections
The introvert in me tends to resist seeking new connections. However, my career forces me to forge against that resistance. I’ve learned to embrace and appreciate it and am grateful for the new connections I’ve made recently.
Day 324 / Cousin Love – Part II
Alexa and Ava have five first cousins on Donovon’s side of the family – Carson, Caroline, Regan, Casen, and Paityn – each one so precious and loveable.
Carson is an entertainer. He loves to make us laugh or sing and play his guitar for us. Caroline is a sweetheart with a heart so big and true, she sees nothing but good in everyone. Regan is strong and genuine. She tells it like it is and pulls no punches. Casen is multi-talented and disciplined. And he’s pretty quiet, but you can’t help but see the love he has for his sisters and cousins when we’re all together. Paityn is the newest little addition and she’s a bundle of pure joy.
They are all so smart and loving. I’m filled with joy when I’m around all of them. I love them like my own and I find my girls so lucky to have so many cousins in the family with whom they are so close. I’m so grateful for so much Cousin Love.
