After weeks and weeks of rain the sun came out for an entire day today and we could not help but go out and enjoy it. What better way than on the lake.
Donovon and I took the girls canoeing on Lady Bird Lake. It was the first time we’ve gone canoeing as a family and it was a blast!
I’m so grateful for such a fun day on the lake!
The whole fam went to a friend’s party today. Ava played with the kids that were there while Donovon, Alexa, and I played Cards Against Humanity with our friends. We all had such a good time.
We were there for hours before realizing how late it was. That’s when you know you’re having a blast – 6 hours goes by and you have no clue how late it is.
I’m so grateful for a fun Saturday afternoon party with our friends.
I’m so grateful for enjoying cocktails and binge-watching Entourage with my hubby on this very chill Friday night.
I count myself very lucky that I have a brother-in-law that I don’t just get along with, but whose company I enjoy and whose character I admire. And most importantly, I’m grateful for the man who lights up my sister’s and My Little Princess Nieces’ world.

Today was one of those days where a vodka martini beckoned for me when I arrived home from work. I do take a small amount of pride in my Martinis and today’s tasty example only reinforced that.
Thank goodness for vodka and vermouth.
Flash floods have devastated the area all around us the past few days. My heart and prayers go out to those who lost their homes, their loved ones, or their lives.
Our garage flooded twice over the holiday weekend, but I’m thankful that our house wasn’t flooded.
I am eternally grateful for those who gave their lives so that we may freely live ours.
Today Alexa and I went to see Pitch Perfect 2 together. The movie was fun, but not as fun as spending the afternoon with My Big Girl.
This evening, Donovon took me out to North for dinner. The food was delicious, but spending time with Donovon was priceless.
I’m so grateful for quality time with My Hubby and My Big Girl.
We have The. Best. Neighbors. — Spencer and Hollie are not only great neighbors, but dear friends.
It’s kinda funny how our relationship came to be. We lived next door to Spencer and Hollie for close to two years before saying more than a few words in passing to each other. Then one day, Donovon and I were hanging out in our backyard and we heard them in their backyard. Interest piqued, Donovon went over to our shared fence, peeked his head over into their yard – total Wilson-from-Home-Improvement-style – and started a conversation.
The rest is history – Fourteen years of watching their four young girls growing into four young women, patio dinners, after-work cocktails, football parties, holiday parties, backyard lounging, ingredient borrowing, tool borrowing, and pet-sitting.
We’ve become so close to each other and each other’s families. They are like family, and I can’t imagine living next door to anyone else. I cherish Spencer & Hollie – our neighbors, our friends, our family.
Today we went out to The Oasis on Lake Travis. This poor lake has suffered through a three-year drought and many thought it would never come back to its former glory. With all the recent rain, however, Lake Travis is coming back. It’s truly an amazing thing to see.
I’m so grateful that the lake is back!
